General Information & Requirements for Master of Science
Master of Science (MS) in Industrial Engineering program is designed to improve the knowledge and research skills of the students in the analysis and design of the manufacturing and/or service organizations. The MS program will expose the students to the theoretical, technological and practical aspects of industrial engineering and operations research. The main research areas in the program are production planning and inventory control, design and analysis of manufacturing systems, logistics and supply chain, project and machine scheduling, operations research, decision analysis, and quality management.
Options
The MS program consists of two options: thesis and non-thesis.
- The program option with thesis requires successful completion of a minimum of 21 credit hours of course work (7 courses with credit including IE 501 Linear Optimization Methods and IE 502 Stochastic Processes courses), IE 590 Graduate Seminar, IE 599 Master's thesis, and RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics.
- The non-thesis MS program requires successful completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work (10 courses with credit including IE 501 Linear Optimization Methods and IE 502 Stochastic Processes courses), IE 592 Graduate Project, and RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics.
Other Requirements
Language of instruction at Çankaya University is English, and therefore, each applicant has to be fluent in written and spoken English required to follow courses and conduct independent research. Applicants must have a BS degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. In case the applicant has a bachelor's degree from a department other than Industrial Engineering, s/he may need to take courses from the Scientific Preparation Program before taking master's level courses.
