Industrial Engineering Department was established in 1997 as one of the first two engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering at Çankaya University. Among the non-profit private universities in Turkey, it is the second industrial engineering department producing undergraduate program graduates. Our faculty members hold degrees from well-known and reputable universities from Turkey and abroad, providing a broad spectrum of expertise in various industrial engineering areas. The department offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees.
Our undergraduate program is based on mathematics, basic sciences and engineering analysis, and provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address organizational and industrial problems. Additionally, students are encouraged to develop a background and improve their skills in management, humanities, and social sciences. Primary areas of interest are analysis, design, planning, operation and control of manufacturing and service systems. All of our undergraduate students are admitted with tuition waivers of varying degrees based on their scores in the university entrance examination. Additionally, students can get academic scholarships based on their grade point average. Eligible students may apply for a double major degree or a minor program certificate.
Our undergraduate program was first accredited in May 1, 2013 by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK) and awarded the First Cycle EUR-ACE Certificate, and has been accredited and certified since then. Our dedication to quality education has been rewarded with an extension of the MÜDEK accreditation and the award of First Cycle EUR-ACE Certificate until September 30, 2028.
Our Master of Science program is designed to improve the skills of students in the analysis and design of the manufacturing and service organizations. The program exposes the students to the theoretical, technological and practical aspects of industrial engineering and operations research. The program offers thesis and non-thesis options to graduate students. Main research areas are production planning and inventory control, design and analysis of manufacturing systems, logistics and supply chains, project and machine scheduling, operations research, decision analysis, quality management, automation in manufacturing, cost management, and human factors engineering.
2021-2022 enrollment includes 394 undergraduate and 24 master's students. Due to its broad scope, industrial engineering graduates have a wide range of career opportunities. We have alumni working in academe, public, industry and service sectors, in Turkey and abroad. Some summary statistics on the number of alumni from our BS program over the years since our first graduates in 2001 are summarized below.
