Master's Program

Graduate Program Objectives and Outcomes

The objectives of the Master of Science Program in Industrial Engineering are:

  • To provide the students with a strong analytical basis for original applications and theoretical work for defining, formulating, analyzing, and solving complex industrial engineering problems observed in manufacturing and service systems,
  • To introduce the students to conduct graduate research in industrial engineering in accordance with scientific, management and technological developments.

Graduate Program Outcomes (Qualifications)

  1. Attain broad and deep knowledge in Industrial Engineering; evaluate, interpret and apply the knowledge. Develop skills in using limited or incomplete data together with scientific methods to complement and apply the knowledge; integrating knowledge belonging to various disciplines.
  2. Attain extensive knowledge on contemporary techniques and methods applied in Industrial Engineering as well as the limitations of these techniques and methods. Awareness of recently developed and emerging applications; improve ability to investigate and learn these applications when needed.
  3. Develop skills in setting up Industrial Engineering specific problems, develop new and/or original ideas and methods to solve these problems; develop and apply innovative solutions in system, component or process design.
  4. Improve skills in designing and applying analytical, modeling-based and experimental research; resolving and interpreting complex situations encountered during this process.
  5. Develop skills in conveying the processes involved and the results obtained in their work at national and international platforms, within or outside their field, in a systematic and clear way through written or oral communication.
  6. Describe social and environmental dimensions of Industrial Engineering applications. Protect social, scientific and ethical values throughout the course of collecting, interpreting and disseminating data as well as in all their vocational activities.
  7. Take leadership in multidisciplinary teams; ability to devise different approaches to solve complex problems and take responsibility.
  8. Communicate both orally and in writing at the level of the European language portfolio B2 (English in particular).
