Master's Program

Graduate Curriculum for Master's Students

The MS program consists of two options: thesis and non-thesis.

  • The program option with thesis requires successful completion of a minimum of 21 credit hours of course work (7 courses with credit including IE 501 Linear Optimization Methods and IE 502 Stochastic Processes courses), IE 590 Graduate Seminar, IE 599 Master's thesis, and RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics.
  • The non-thesis MS program requires successful completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work (10 courses with credit including IE 501 Linear Optimization Methods and IE 502 Stochastic Processes courses), IE 592 Graduate Project, and RME 500 Research Methods and Ethics.

* In addition to the above elective courses, courses from the departments having programs in our Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences may be taken with the approval of the graduate advisor of the student and the department head. These will be counted as elective courses as well. However, only up to 6 credit hours of such courses can be counted towards the degree requirements.
